Jess retired from his career as an employee benefits insurance specialist in 2012. During his 36 year career in the insurance industry, Jess worked for various employers in various locations including, St. Louis, Philadelphia, Richmond, VA, San Diego and finally landing in Charlotte before retiring to the Western United States in St. George. His success in the insurance industry is best illustrated by the friendships he formed with policy holders, i.e., customers. Jess has had many adventures and is a great storyteller who can regale you with tales of motorcycling 3900 miles across the U.S., backpacking in China, exploring Costa Rica and many, many hiking adventures. He has hiked the Grand Canyon rim to rim seven times. Prior to beginning his career in insurance, Jess received a BA from St. Mary’s College in Maryland in 1972, after which he taught US history to 7th graders. He continues to lead a life seeking opportunities that make a difference
