Forrest Addington

I was born to Forest Keith & Mildred Irene Nixon Addington in Portland Indiana on 6 July 1947 & raised in Tipton, Indiana.

After graduating from Tipton High School in 1965 & attending Ball State University, I served in the United States Air Force & was trained as a Russian Linguist and Intelligence Specialist.

I joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1967 & served a mission in Rochester, NY. I attended Indiana & Brigham Young Universities where I graduated with a Bachelor Degree in 1976 and a Master of Education in 1977.  I worked for 2 years in the Beaver County School District as the District Counselor.

I was endorsed by the Church & commissioned a Chaplain in the United States Navy in August 1979. I have served in five branches of the United States Military on five continents & my assignments include over 40 years of military service, including the VA Hospital in Fresno, CA from 1992 – 2013.

I graduated from the University of San Francisco with a Doctorate of Education in 1996 emphasizing Counseling Psychology, Marriage and Family Relations.

By profession I was a chaplain, counselor, and educator. I was appointed manager & Employment Specialist at LDS Employment Resource Services in Fresno, CA from 1995 to 2013 and served part-time as a Chaplain at the VA Hospital.

I  have held over 32 different jobs throughout my life and personally enjoy reading, hiking, basketball, and yard work.

I am married to Linda Kaye Muir of Colorado (Denver & Durango) for over 44 years.  We enjoy 4 children & take special pleasure in our 11 grandchildren.  We live in Saint George, Utah and serve in the community & The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
